Metal finishes are as much about the way the surface interacts with light as they are about color. In this sense, the setting that a metal element inhabits, is critical to the selection of its finish.
Represented here are a selection of standard McNae Design finishes. Many other variations of material and surface treatment are possible for custom projects.
Every finish should be considered living. Even painted surfaces will respond to climate and exposure. Understanding the potential changes in a finish is a part of making the right choice. Many finishes have limited applications related to their exposure and use.
The finish images displayed here are meant to start a conversation about material properties and a client's intended use. Variation in color and texture is expected between samples. These are hand applied patinas and are subject to environmental conditions and differing properties of the metal surface.
